Something not working?

Which iPhones can run it?
MyAttic needs iOS 26 or later, on an iPhone 15 Pro, an iPhone 15 Pro Max, or any iPhone 16 and later. All the work happens on the phone itself, and that is what it takes — it is the price of your writing never leaving it.
It says it can't make a story yet
Open Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri and check it is switched on and has finished setting itself up. The first time takes a while and wants Wi-Fi and some free space. You can keep writing, tagging and reading the whole time — only the stories wait.
Can I talk instead of typing?
Yes — hold the microphone and talk. The words appear on the page as you say them, turned into text on the phone. Nothing is recorded to a file, so there is no audio to delete afterwards. The first time you use it your phone may fetch what it needs for your language; after that it works with no signal at all. If it will not start, check the setting above, and that MyAttic has permission in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.
Where is my writing stored?
In a private area of your iPhone, and nowhere else. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
How do I move to a new iPhone?
Restore the new phone from your iCloud or Finder backup, as you would for any app. MyAttic's contents are part of that backup, so your entries and stories come across with it. Because there is no cloud copy, a phone restored from no backup starts empty — this is the trade for the privacy guarantee, and it is worth knowing before you need it.
Can I get my writing out?
Yes. Export is your data's exit door and it should never be locked. If you cannot find it, or you need a format we don't offer yet, email us.
How do I lock the app?
Settings → Face ID lock. It's off by default, because we would rather you chose it than be surprised by it.
If a story isn't right
Ask again, and tell it more about the occasion — who will be there, what it is, how long you have. A second ask with more to aim at usually comes back with something better.
MyAttic writes only from what you have written, on the phone, with nothing outside itself to check against. That is the same trade that keeps it private: it can pick a moment you would not have picked, or take a line the way you wrote it rather than the way you meant it. If it comes back wrong in the same way every time, tell us what you asked for and roughly what came back — never the entry itself.

What you were doing, what you expected, what happened instead, and which iPhone and iOS version you're on. Screenshots help — please crop out anything you wrote.
